Емкость рынка зависит от степени его освоенности, эластичности спроса, изменения экономической конъюнктуры, уровня цен, качества товара и затрат компаний, присутствующих на рынке, на рекламу. Анализ емкости рынка подразумевает определение объема продаж данной марки товара за конкретный период времени. Исследование обычно производится по пяти основным направлениям: 1. Анализ вторичной информации (анализ всей документации, которая может содержать сведения об интересующем рынке: статистические данные, данные органов управления, обзоры рынка, специализированные журналы и статьи и пр.); 2. Производство и реализация продукции (исследование предприятий, оптовой и розничной торговли с целью получения информации о реальных объемах сбыта и присутствия на нем производителей и торговых марок. Такое исследование проводится быстрее, чем исследование клиентурной базы, - продавцов меньше, чем покупателей); 3. Затраты и поведение потребителей (затраты на интересующую продукцию, совершенные за определенный период времени, отношение потребителя к марке, объем разовой покупки, частота приобретения товара, ожидаемая цена на товар, степень различимости брендов, лояльность к брендам, мотивация выбора и т.п.); 4. Расчет емкости на основе норм потребления данного типа товара (статистической основой служат годовые нормы потребления на одного жителя и общая численность населения. Итоговая цифра получается путем умножения нормы потребления на одного жителя на значение общей численности населения); 5. Определение емкости на основе «приведения» объемов продаж (когда известная емкость рынка в одном регионе является основой для расчета емкости рынка в другом регионе путем корректировки ее с помощью коэффициентов приведения численности населения, средней заработной платы, урбанизации, цены, особенности потребления и т.д.).
